MONEY SMARTS

 

LIFE*SPIN Publication on the Registered Disability Savings Plan.  Who can get one, How to get one and What are the advantages. It covers the definition of a disability by the CRA and process of getting a RDSP if under the age of 49. Benefits may include $1,000 + government matching of up to 3 times of the contribution made without affecting any type of assistance you may be on. Extremely helpful for planning your future!

Your child may be eligible for $500 towards their education without it affecting any type of assistance you may be getting, and without making any contributions whatsoever. However, if you do contribute the government may match up to 40% of your contribution!  A win-win for you and your family!

Ken Palmer Music Bursary

In partnership with Forest City London Music Awards, we adopted this memorial music bursary in honour of Ken Palmer, in 2015. It was created back in 2014 to encourage young musicians in High School to pursue a music education at a post secondary level.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

 

LIFE*SPIN provides free assistance to file income taxes for low-income individuals, for current and past years. This service is provided to those individuals and families who earn a modest income, click here to see if you qualify. We are pleased to have Len Roozen assisting anyone who needs their income taxes completed for the current and/or prior tax years. This is part of the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).

Although we remain closed to the public, LIFE*SPIN can now assist you with filing your taxes from 2017 to 2019. The CRA has provided a program to us to complete your return over the phone. We will email you your appointment time.  Appointments are for 1/2 hour.  If you indicate that you are a couple, we will book you for 1 hour together.

Returns will be completed by telephone.  The phone number will come up as unknown caller, even if you have call display.  If you do not answer, we will not be able to reschedule until all other requests are met.

 
 

Please gather all your documents and complete the information on this form, before your appointment.

Our service for preparing taxes is by appointment only. Note: if you do not have your “Notice of Assessment” for the last year you filed, please call 1-800-959-8281 to request a printout, before making an appointment.

*Appointments for the 2022 taxes can not be made for you until mid-February until we receive the CRA 2022 tax program.
