Compass Community Services Distress Line

The phone line is available to individuals experiencing distress, seeking resources, or looking for a social connection. It is operated by Compass’ staff and trained volunteers, all of whom offer unique expertise and understanding of providing emotional support. Although Compass is located in Guelph, Ontario, the program accepts and encourages calls from individuals across Ontario.

Reach Out 24/7

Reach Out 24/7 offers professional crisis counselling. Supports are available to individuals who may be struggling with suicidal ideation, emotional trauma or distress, substance use, and/or gambling. Trained mental health professionals will provide trusted assistance in an office setting, by phone, and through texting services. The workers are available to offer information and education about local resources found in Elgin, Oxford, Middlesex or London.

St. Joseph’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program

St. Joseph’s offers 3 services for coping with sexual assault. You can participate in one, two, or all three programs.

  1. Physical (medical) care ~ Available up to 1 year following the assault

  2. Emotional care and support ~ Can be started up to 1 year following the assault

  3. Forensic evaluation ~ Available up to 7 days following the assault in most cases ~ Forensic means “of the law” and refers to the collection of evidence

Costs of care are covered by provincial government health funding.
